Haseena Parkar’s song Bantai featuring Siddhanth Kapoor and Ankur Bhatia is out and it’s a foot-tapping number. It’s a typical gangster sort of a song which gives a Mumbaiya feel. Siddhant comes out stronger as he has adapted the mannerisms of Dawood Ibrahim and is trying to get his story in front of the audience.
Bantai has been sung by Divine and Kirthi Shetty. The song gives you a glimpse of what the film has in store for us. You will get to see Shraddha Kapoor but at the end of the song.
Haseena Parkar is based on the real life story of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar who took charge of his Mumbai business. Shraddha plays the titular role and her real brother Siddhanth essays the role of Dawood Ibrahim in Apoorva Lakhia’s film.
Talking about the challenges while playing the role of Dawood, Siddhanth earlier said, “To understand his psyche was difficult. The transformation was both emotional and physical. I had to eat, walk, look and think like him. I read Dongri To Dubai and even met Hussain Zaidi [author of the book on Ibrahim]. He offered me an insight into Dawood’s life.”
Kapoor went on to add, “Not many knew what he was like as a youngster. We have taken a few cinematic liberties, but Apoorva spent ample time with Haseena’s family to ensure we got everything right. Taking a cue from old photo albums, they helped us recreate similar outfits. Although I met the family, I couldn’t gather the courage to speak to them about the blasts.”
